CA is assisted the New York State Office of Parks with a comprehensive environmental analysis, master plan and design elements for this new 275-acre park. The plan includes an evaluation of ecological, physical and historical resources of the currently undeveloped property, which includes woodlands, Long Island Sound shoreline and the relatively pristine Hallock Pond, as well as extensive formerly disturbed areas affected by farming and sand mining. CA’s work includes assisting with future access, preservation of natural habitats, and identifying future suitable park uses. As part of the implementation of the comprehensive plan, CA is preparing design and construction documents for parking areas, access/egress roads and pedestrian pathways throughout the park. The park will contain facilities for a nature center, beach access, trails, informational kiosks, and other low intensity recreational activities.
